Change any shortcut, or use Total Commander keys

Settings ▸ Keyboard lists every menu command with its shortcut. Change one, or pick the Windows Explorer or Total Commander profile.

Recorded in FileOctopus on demo files. No audio. Use the full-screen button to watch it larger.

How to do it

  1. Open Settings (⌘,) ▸ Keyboard.
  2. Search for a command, click its shortcut and press the new keys. FileOctopus tells you when a key is already used by Finder, macOS or another command.
  3. Or choose a profile: Finder (the default), Windows Explorer or Total Commander. With Total Commander, F5 copies and F6 moves the selection to the other pane.
  4. Restore Defaults brings back Finder's shortcuts.
